This is an introductory course aimed at staff working in imaging departments in North West England & London NHS trusts who wish to develop a basic knowledge/awareness in the delivery of improvement projects. Delegates will be required to apply learning to relevant QI project as part of the course. Compassionate Engagement: Sonographers

This programme will include exploring the expectation of engagement and involvement of patient and families following an adverse patient event, requiring breaking of bad news – both from an organisational perspective and linking back to Patient Safety and Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), with a particular focus on compassionate engagement with patients and their families in imaging. This programme will include an afternoon which will be built around clinically specific scenarios, to enable staff to apply theory into practice in a psychologically safe environment.This programme will be led and facilitated by AQUA staff who have experience and expertise in PSIRF, compassionate engagement and undertaking Engagement Lead roles. A member of AQUA's Lived Experience Panel will support this course.AIMED AT: Sonographers who are dealing with difficult conversations in breaking bad news and having difficult conversations.VENUE: In person.COURSE LEADS: This course is run in partnership with AQUA.
