The BSNR is delighted to announce that from January 2025, an annual programme of NHSE-funded monthly online teaching sessions will begin. Each themed session will run on the morning of the 4th Thursday of each month. The programme is targeted at ST1-3 registrars, and all UK trainees are encouraged to attend. Each session will include four themed lectures with interactive cases, shared via PACSbin.

The course has been put together by a collaboration of Medical Physics departments in and around London with the aim of providing high quality RPS training in an online format during the Covid-19 pandemic.Course material will be delivered through e-learning in advance of the "live" training day, online lectures and virtual workshops in small breakout groups. Delegates will have the opportunity for discussion with an RPA. For those wishing to receive a certificate of RPS training, there will be a short open-book assessment.The core of competence stated in the HSE Ionising Radiations Report No. 6 for Radiation Protection Supervisors will be covered. The lectures and workshops will draw on the wide range of experience of our RPAs and Clinical Scientists.Details of the learning to be completed in advance of the training day will be sent to you after registration.The final timetable and details of how to join the live training will be emailed a few days before the event.

This is an introductory course aimed at staff working in imaging departments in North West England NHS trusts who wish to develop a basic knowledge/awareness in the delivery of improvement projects. Delegates will be required to apply learning to relevant QI project as part of the course. The improvement coaching sessions provide an opportunity to explore challenges and share learning with peers. AIMED AT: Both clinical and non-clinical imaging staff across a variety of professions, AfC bandings and levels of training (including Specialist Trainees in Radiology). Appreciative Inquiry is a strength-based approach that seeks to discover what works well in organisations and across systems. It is based on the assumption that solutions already exist to many of the challenges facing health and care today. The course will be underpinned by use of imaging examples and scenarios. This programme will include exploring the expectation of engagement and involvement of patient and families following an adverse patient event, requiring breaking of bad news – both from an organisational perspective and linking back to Patient Safety and Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), with a particular focus on compassionate engagement with patients and their families in imaging. This programme will include an afternoon which will be built around clinically specific scenarios, to enable staff to apply theory into practice in a psychologically safe environment.This programme will be led and facilitated by AQUA staff who have experience and expertise in PSIRF, compassionate engagement and undertaking Engagement Lead roles. Dr Ben Ariff, Consultant Radiologist, is providing an excellent study day covering many aspects of cardiac CT. The NCL Imaging Academy Team would like to invite you to an online session exploring Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS). This course will provide you with an overview of the syndrome, describing the symptoms and pathophysiology, assessment methods as well as treatment options. It will prepare you to recognise the sonographic indicators of PCS.The course will be led by Angie White, Ultrasound Practice Educator for North Central London Imaging Academy. She has 20 years of experience with gynaecological ultrasound, and has worked in a world-leading specialist clinic diagnosing and treating PCS for the last nine years.You will receive the appropriate Teams link on registration, and a CPD certificate upon completion of a feedback form.Audience: Open to all with an interest in Pelvic Congestion Syndrome; targeted to those who perform gynaecological ultrasound.Accessibility Support: Captions can be turned on in the session, anonymised options for participation, and please let us know if you need further support.
